Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (Columbia)

One of the greatest jazz albums of all time, Kind Of Blue, has just been reissued, this time with a twist. This new edition solves the riddle surrounding Kind Of Blue that has persisted in musicians' circles for years: In the past, anyone who tried to play along with the record would've discovered that the album's pitch played slightly too fast, It turns out that the original recordings had been made on a tape machine that was running slightly too slow, so every subsequent edition played back too fast. Add to this confusion the fact that the first CD version was unfortunately mastered with too much treble, making for a dissatisfying listen, at least from an audio standpoint. At long last, this CD is the "correct" version, a definitive rendition of a truly classic album, and it sounds great.
